USF cybersecurity, computing study abroad programs are growing
Student participation has increased 36% year-over-year from the 2023-2024 school year to the 2024-2025 year. And now a new program in Barranquilla, Colombia and hosted at the Universidad del Norte, is slated for the summer semester in 2026 and will focus on computer science and information security.

Mackenzie Freel says the Bellini College gave her the confidence to leader in the cybersecurity major. Now, she鈥檚 determined to help other women find that same sense of belonging in cybersecurity. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 what keeps me motivated 鈥� knowing that every woman who joins this field makes it stronger,鈥� she said.

Herd of Thunder
When the USF Herd of Thunder Marching Band takes the field, fans hear the power of the music. Among the 350 musicians are future computer engineers, AI professionals and cybersecurity leaders who prove that technical rigor and creative passion can march in step.
