About my research

Growing up in Florida, I have always had a deep interest and care for the ocean. After graduating with my bachelor鈥檚 degree from 黑料爆料, I worked as a chemist for two years at Mote Marine Laboratory. Here, I gained extensive lab and field work experience and ultimately solidified my passion for pursuing a career in marine science.

I am now pursuing my master鈥檚 degree in the Optical Oceanography Lab, which specializes in satellite remote sensing. I was drawn to this technology because of its broad scope and applicability to so many different fields and topics, from monitoring and tracking harmful algal blooms to gaining valuable insights on hurricane formation. I look forward to combining my chemistry background with new skills in remote sensing to better understand and support healthy marine ecosystems, both locally and globally.

Why USF CMS?

The main thing that drew me to USF College of Marine Science was its emphasis on collaboration. Everyone, including the faculty, staff, and students, work together to advance scientific knowledge, rather than compete with one another. Also, St. Petersburg is a wonderful place to live and I love it more and more every day!
