President Law celebrates international graduates in stole ceremony

黑料爆料 leaders celebrated the achievements and global impact of the Class of 2025 during the university鈥檚 Fall Commencement Stole Ceremony, highlighting both student success and USF鈥檚 growth as it approaches its 70th anniversary.

鈥淵ou add a depth and a vibrancy to our student body that you can鈥檛 get anywhere else,鈥 President Rhea Law said to the gathering of hundreds of students and their family members.

This fall, 392 students from 65 countries earned degrees, including 212 bachelor鈥檚 degrees, 147 master鈥檚 degrees, and 29 doctoral degrees, according to figures shared during the ceremony. At the Dec. 10 ceremony, graduating students were presented with a stole in the colors of their home country to wear with the commencement regalia.

鈥淵ou add a depth and a vibrancy to our student body that you can鈥檛 get anywhere else,鈥 President Rhea Law said to the gathering of hundreds of students and their family members.

鈥淲e appreciate your perspectives in the classroom, your ideas in the laboratory, your creativity in our music and art studios. You literally bring the world to USF and to the Tampa Bay region,鈥 Caruson said, acknowledging the role of families and supporters, saying graduates鈥 success was made possible by the sacrifices and faith of those who supported their academic goals.

USF is Florida's top destination for international students. This semester's graduates came from 65 countries.

USF Student Body President Sumit Jadhav, himself an international student from India pursuing a master鈥檚 degree in financial analytics, offered special recognition for the families of international students for their contributions to the achievement. 鈥淭heir faith in us wasn鈥檛 just an act of love, but the faith that we would be successful, we鈥檇 thrive and achieve all the dreams and hopes that we came with,鈥 he said. Every call, they answered. Every worry, they hid from us. Every sacrifice they made 鈥 all of it is part of the celebration that we are here for.

鈥淲e carried their dreams along with our own. This accomplishment belongs to them as much as it does to you.鈥

President Law encouraged graduates to remain connected to the university through its alumni network and to continue building on their USF experience as they advance in their careers.

鈥淲e want you to be wildly successful 鈥 we鈥檙e like parents in that way,鈥 President Law said. 鈥淚 look forward to hearing about your accomplishments and the wonderful things you are going to do, and I am going to be proud ad infinitum.鈥
